This thesis is the result of research on the 13th-century dream journal of the Buddhist monk Myōe (1173 - 1232), founder and principal of Kōzan-ji temple (⾼⼭寺) in Kyoto. Why are the dream records of this Buddhist monk so important? Myōe was an influential priest in his time. However, his dream records, known under the title Yumeki 夢記, had not been accorded much attention in the past. |

"It is well know to all how much daily problems the Bulgarian people has in these days. However, more dangerous than anything is the tendency to loose identity and national selfconfidence. This is a clearly visible tendency in the inscriptions of foreign languages, mass emigration and the wish for imitation of foreign culture. At other side, the answer to the question, "Why are you ashamed to call youself Bulgarian?" is more than obvious: there is in the present time to be proud of. The above-described situation makes preservation and popularization of Bulgarian History extraordinarily important. If it ... |

Without sentimentality, he ... |

The book shows in a chronological order a large number of written records on the Mohammedan Bulgarians, mainly by European authors, documented till the restiration of the Bulgarian state in 1878. All cited sources provide evidence that this population, converted to Islam after the Ottoman invasion of the Balkans, had preserved their Bulgarian mother tongue and many of their old customs and folklore. The sources prove that the Mohammedan bulgarians are an integral part of the Bulgarian community. The Call of the Wild (1903) and White Fang (1906) are world famous animal stories. Set in Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush of the late 1890s, The Call of the Wild is about Buck, the magnificent cross-bred offspring of a St Bernard and a Scottish Collie. Stolen from his pampered life on a Californian estate and shipped to the Klondike to work as a sledge dog, he triumphs over his circumstances and becomes the leader of a wolf pack.
